Neuroprison is based out of Seattle, Washington, and was founded by Gabriel Rice in 2015 before the band started releasing material in 2020. With Geloey Galadrielle joining the band as co-vocalist, along with Steven Knouse on guitar and Simon Smith on bass, Neuroprison seeks to create and proliferate music inspired by post-punk, dark wave, EBM, and gothic rock, as well as their predecessors and off shoots.
"An alternative twist on traditional post-punk, Neuroprison’s new self-titled album delivers a mesmerizing mix of mysteriously dark and sultry guitar work blended with hauntingly hypnotic vocals and touches of entrancing spoken word. A Joy Division-esque texture is apparent in the droning bass line and gloom of “Orphan In The Valley,” while Kat Fox’s feature vocals take you on a dreary ‘swim’ through “Solid Water.” An album not to be missed."
